Who we are
The Ginah Ahadi Foundation (GAFO) was founded in 2023 to advance the rights of vulnerable children, women and girls in Uganda in order to contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and African Agenda 2063.
Our Mission
To enhance the dignity and quality of life of vulnerable individuals, families and
communities by eliminating barriers to opportunity and helping people in need reach their fullest potential through the provision of HIV & SRH information and services, life skills development, empowerment, and advocacy among adolescents and young women in Uganda.
GAFO also exists to advance women, children and girls rights through promoting access to quality HIV, Gender and Sexual and Reproductive Health services.
GAFO also exists to promote inclusion of women and girls in sustainable development
including economic empowerment, climate change and participation in leadership spaces.
Our Goal
Our Goal is to contribute to the reduction levels of unemployment among the youth,
women and girls and to address the escalating SRH Challenges in the community including
unwanted and teenage pregnancies, early child marriage and other forms of sexual and
gender based violence
We also believe that everyone has the opportunity to achieve/Harness his or her fullest
potential (Demographic Dividend) and participate in and contribute to the economic
growth of Uganda, Africa and the world at large.
JUSTIFICATION FOR PROGRAMS/PROJECTS OF GAFO
Economic Empowerment
Skills Development: Programming equips youth and girls with valuable digital skills that
are increasingly in demand globally. This can open up opportunities for employment,
freelancing, and entrepreneurship.
Job Creation: By fostering a tech-savvy generation, programming initiatives can help
stimulate local economies and create new job opportunities, addressing issues like high
unemployment rates.
Educational Advancement
Access to Resources: Programming education often includes access to a range of digital
tools and resources, which can enhance overall educational experiences and outcomes.
Encouraging STEM: Introducing programming at an early age encourages interest in
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields, which can lead to
higher education and career opportunities in these critical areas.
MODULE TWO: PROGRAM INTEVENTION OFFERED BY GAFO FOUNDATION.
Thematic Area one: Mentorship & Connection (Mentorship and social support program)
Area of focus: Social Support (Mental Health support programs, Educational and skills
development), Guidance (Finance & Business incubation Initiatives, Career guidance,
Capacity building, comprehensive mentorship (Trainings & Mentorship Training Program)
Program Description:
Our program focuses on fostering personal growth, enhancing tech responsive marketable
skills, and building a strong support network to help beneficiaries achieve their goals and
overcome challenges of life imposed by the societal barriers, It will also focus
on empowering our beneficiaries with 360 degree capacity, skills and knowledge to navigate
the society barriers faced by women and vulnerable groups without any hindrances. The
program will help in the development of a social support system with our beneficiaries in
the center of our social ecological model. These programs will entail conducting Mentorship
TOT workshops, Facilitating mentor-Mentee initiatives, beneficiary led or
informed business idea incubation programs and training, Comprehensive counselling
services, mental health awareness programs, Nutrition and Health programs among others
